The first jobs will be making the site safe followed by site clearance. Your garden is a now a building site with tools, machinery and possibly chemical substances. It is the principle contractor’s duty to monitor the health and safety of every single person that enters and leaves the site. This includes the clients.

The designer will visit the site to assist the contractor with marking out the site. This has to be done with accuracy and if decisions need to be made on site, the designer is there to do this so the project can move on.
